Esther Maglathlin’s Gift Funds Doctoral Research Scholarship

School alumna Esther Maglathlin left a generous donation to the university when she died, which will be added to the matching funds from the State of Florida and used to endow a scholarship for doctoral students. The Esther Maglathlin Doctoral Research Scholarship will be awarded to either a mid-year doctoral student collaborating with a professor on research or to a doctoral candidate in his or her final year working on dissertation research. Ms. Maglathlin received two degrees from FSU - a BA in Modern Languages in 1929 and a Master of Arts in Library Science in 1956.
