Gary Burnett (Associate Professor) earned a B.A. in English from the University of California, San Diego, an M.L.S. from Rutgers University, and a Ph.D. in English from Princeton University. He has worked as a bookseller, a librarian, and a small press publisher in addition to his professional experience as a Research Associate at the ERIC Clearinghouse on Urban Education and an adjunct faculty member at Princeton University and the School of Communication, Information and Library Studies at Rutgers University.

He has conducted numerous Workshops on the Internet and Web Development, particularly at Rutgers University and the New York Public Library.

At the College of Information, Dr. Burnett teaches courses in Subject Analysis, Graphic Media Production, Information Graphics, Digital Video Production, and Website Development and Management.

His personal interests include a fanatical devotion to music, with a particular interest in improvisational music, and he is the School of Information Studies' resident Deadhead.
