We discussed the environmental scan that is due in January 2002 and what is expected. The report should extend through Dec. of 2004, but no further and should include issues at the campus, city, state, national, and international level. No specific plan was developed regarding to how to best achieve the scan.
The disaster plan team met and revised most of the plan. We are still waiting on information about offsite back-up and how we can realistically achieve this. A fire drill will be scheduled at an undisclosed time after the appropriate sections of the manual have been redistributed.
The GA/TA shortage team discussed the spring crisis and decided that all realistic avenues were being pursued. This includes internships and work study students. The possibility of veteran assistance was raised and would be presumed later if deemed necessary. A discussion pursued about combining the Front Admin. desk with the Student Services desk and making the front desk a reception area for the office of the Dean. This would necessitate the moving of Colleen and Diane's offices.
Plans for the holidays were discussed. It was decided to have a large party during the day for all of the School's employees in addition to the traditional faculty party in the evening.
An update on the University's new mail handling proceedures was given. The School will be responsible for supplying gloves, masks, etc.
