Correction to Previous Minutes
"Susan" Thompson should be "Kim" Thompson. Our apologies.
Assignments:
1. Thompson will carefully read the Guidelines to see if, as a new student, she finds areas that confuse her or fail to provide needed information. She will mark areas of redundancy for possible consolidation.
2. Graham will investigate the minutes webpage.
3. Woo will check to see if she has a digital form of the Guidelines.

Because two illustrious members did attend but were absent for the previous meeting....
Be it agreed that no final decisions would be made at this meeting.
--Specialization vs. Uniform program: Should each APC tailor a program to the needs of the individual student? Or should broad requirements be established that all students must follow, limiting flexibility but establishing greater consistency?
Dr. Hart "I have always had faith in the committee that you've formed." He feels the APC's keep students on track, and stated that evidence exists to show that students go on to jobs for which they have prepared. The full Committee supported the idea of the creation of some broad checklist to help students track progress.
--Terminology: It was reaffirmed that standard terminology consistently used throughout the Guidelines would reduce confusion. A list of multiple terms in use where one would suffice should be created. Graham pointed out a lack of consistency in the Guidelines in the use of punctuation, capitalization, and abbreviations since different sections were authored by different people/committees. It was suggested that a basic style sheet be created as an editing tool once these details are agreed upon.
--Repetition of Information: As the Guidelines currently stand, specific information appears in different places and is not always consistent. Some consolidation or other clarification is needed. Removing redundancies would shorten this long document. Hart suggested that references within the text could be made to appropriate appendices that detail specific topics.
--Other details: The layout of the Guidelines currently is inconsistent, as seen in the irregular outline format. Descriptive subsection titles would help.
Also, as different versions of the Guidelines are produced, they need to be dated and carefully controlled.
Woo pointed out that the current School webpage hosts the minutes of these meetings shows last semester's Committee members and needs to be updated. She also suggested that minutes be posted as soon as possible after meetings because email is not proving to be a dependable delivery system at this time.
