   Masters/Specialist Program Team Meeting Notes 10/24/01 1. Curriculum project sub-team report: A. Marcella Genz was elected Chair. B. Faculty approved recommendation to replace Foundations course and incorporate content into other courses. C. Kathy Burnett will ask the ad doc teams that are reviewing the required courses replacing the foundation to submit their reports one week prior to 11/13 so that sub-team can review prior to 11/14 faculty meeting. D. Next sub-team meeting 11/13/01, 9am. Agenda items: · Required course review, · Discussion of changes to orientation · Set meeting for revising IPE model 2. Report from M/S Degree project sub-team A. Work is progressing on analysis of concentration requirements and pre-reqs. B. After the concentration report (probably Spring), a curriculum development planning sub-team will be formed. C. Next meeting of M/S Degree sub-team 10/31/01, 12:30pm. Agenda items: · Status of concentration reviews · Select sub-team leader

4. Reports of Special Teams and other Team Business:
   Recommendations from Summers Award team: A. Eliza will coordinate award procedures with undergrad team, including: · notification and student roles in ceremony · method of consensus voting · possibility of making past winning essays public · the procedures will be placed on the School intranet upon B. Discuss with doctoral team possibility of separate doctoral award/or integrate with “PhD with distinction” process C. Explicitly incorporate into criteria that award is for activities as student D. Add to instructions to potential awardees that criteria for judgment include submitting a well-written essay meeting graduate standards.
