Dresang led discussion on Intellectual Property issues of online courses, with the question whether individual faculty member own online courses that they develop. Team was informed that a university policy exists and reference was made to various locations for more information. Dean Robbins addressed Code Revision for MS degree. She suggested that neither the Library and Archival Science nor the Information Technology CIP code conveys the full intent of our program and that two separate masters degrees, rather than a change of the CIP code for the existing degree, would be the only way to achieve that intent. Various suggestions ensued, such as bringing back an advanced masters degree in Information Studies and a Ph.D. in Information Studies. Dean Latham distributed a document that indicated the school would roll out two new online courses per year, projected to 2004. In response to a question, he will bring back to the team a list of courses not available online. Discussion ensued regarding impracticability of rolling out only two courses per year. Dean Burnett indicated that it might require an additional staff person to speed up the rollout.
