I. Orientation
A. Schedule orientation planning & recap meeting for end of this week or early next. Include Janet, Robert, Blair, Pam, Stephanie, Kathy, Lisa, and Laurie.
B. Size of next two orientations will be much larger due to the number of newly admittied graduate students. Can anticipate approximately 100 at each.
C. Laurie & Janet are preparing a pre-test to establish the skills of each participant and for waiving the computer skills portion of orientation.
D. Need to establish guidelines for outside presenters.
II. Tollfree Number
A. Need to establish procedures for fall semester, esp. for technical support.
III. Regional Tutors/Facilitators
A. Need to discuss the re-assigning of responsibilities for Sandi and Fran.
B. Need to establish responsibilities for graduate assistants.
IV. Panama (Central America)
A. Maria Chavez Hernandez will be travelling there to establish the library and set up internship program.
V. Spring Admissions
A. Spring admissions are unlikely for Spring 2000 due to the number of students admitted for fall semester.
B. Looks as if we'll meet the number set by the Provost for graduate enrollment.
VI. Undergraduate Issues
A. We'll have a few undergraduates taking LIS 5230 as part of their U.G. studies in order to be admitted for Spring 2000.
B. Undergraduates are expected to attend at least the last 2 days of orientation.
C. Discussions are underway to request making BSIS a limited access program.
