2. List of undergraduate candidates for accelerated matriculation; template for memos and letters of recommendation - Phelps and Deeb have completed both.
3. Survey of undergraduate alumni- progress report. Jessica Larkey is still working on it, having trouble finding current contact info on alumni. Latham will assist. Work continues.
4. Investigation of other certificate programs on campus. Hurston reports that contact information has been gathered, but letter of introduction has to be modified with Burnett.
5. Spring/Summer Course preview- the final word. The Course preview meetings are officially dead. Hurston is collecting one-page descriptions of Spring courses from Faculty. Advisors will keep track of student feedback on this new way. Burnett suggests contacting Lisa Fisher to put these descriptions on the course website.
6. Student Carrel/PhD room situation. Nothing has been decided yet. Relevant passage from PhD guidelines will be distributed to team members by Moyer. Going from this, SS team can implement a plan based on these guidelines.
7. Spring admissions going before faculty: discussion. The goal is to target recruiting specialist student in the spring, especially students with Master's in other disciplines. Further research on where these students might come from will be conducted.
8. Spring Admissions Workshop update- overview; undergraduates. Wagar and Davis report. Topics of interest include: rising enrollment numbers, building renovations taking up available class space, credit cards and virtual check acceptance, and a forthcoming dynamic online application for all students.
9. Online registration for distance students: Burnett. Registrar listserv to keep us informed, bugs are being worked out.
10. Possible locations for new student awards: Latham. Display upstairs. Hurston will clean out the upstairs display case and make it available for awards.
11. Program Assistant Vacancy: Burnett. With Phelps moving into a different position, there is now an opening for a full-time program assistant that must be filled soon. Wagar put out preliminary announcement. Phelps is staying on to advise undergraduates in the interim. A subcommittee (Burnett, Wagar, Deeb) is formed to help conduct interviews of applicants.
