  1. Called to Order: 9:30 A.M.

  2. Special Orders:

  3. Reports of Sub-Teams:

  4. Reports of Special Teams and other Team Business:

  5. Unfinished Business:

    1. Building Plans: Handouts are passed around.

    a. Latham explains that we (College of Information) submitted detailed blueprints for the building plans when the Provost wanted a more general idea.
    b. Much discussion on merits of our suggested design and even some brainstorming.
    c. Latham makes the point that this whole discussion is moot as the timeline has already passed. Agreement to find out if David Miner is going to resubmit something so that we may contribute.
    d. Burnett-We are five years away from ground being broken.

  6. New Business:

    1. Homecoming: mid-October

    a. Althea Jenkins of ALA is coming to speak to the students.
    b. Discussion on getting an additional distinguished speaker as this is the only other ceremony all year for Graduates besides Convocation.
    c. Latham suggests more inclusion of undergraduates in ceremony and perhaps choose speakers (after this year) not from the Library Field. Perhaps more from the Information Studies area since we're trying to emphasize that.
    d. Perhaps even this year as part of Srigley Lecture?
    e. Wagar and Latham suggest local folks from ASIC, SAM, Smartchip.
    f. Who is the Srigly Lecturer for this year?
    g. Awards-Considera mechanism for selecting students for Summers and Sherron distinguished student awards; possible subteam (Program coordinators). Put out calls for awards nominations at beginning of fall term (to Staff and Faculty). Review applications.
    h. Back to our Homecoming Activities-Beta Phi Mu, Speakers/Awards, maybe more?-Who's going to do the logistics? Wagar suggests SOIS. Talk turns to our allocation of Homecoming funds.

  7. Announcements:

    3. Other Business:

    a. Hurston- There will be no peer advisors this summer, we will be splitting desk coverage among the 20 hr-week office staff. Just wanted to give the team the heads-up.
    b. Orientation Planning-plugging along.
    c. Plans to meet again in May, June, July (once per month).
    d. New Team Coordinator?
    e. Wagar-suggests we develop evaluation methods for the undergraduate advising services (Surveys, Focus Groups, etc).

  8. Adjourned: 10:20 A.M.
