Admission to the Master's degree is for fall and spring only.
Fall: priority deadline is June 1; final deadline is July 1. Spring deadline: November 1.
Admission to the College's Master's degree program requires approval of both the University and the College of Information. Read carefully and follow ALL the steps below.
Minimum Admission Requirements
Note: The requirements indicated below are used to determine admissibility. YOU MUST SUBMIT GRE SCORES EVEN IF YOU MEET THE MINIMUM GPA REQUIREMENT FOR ADMISSION.
Meeting the University's minimum required GPA or GRE scores does not guarantee admission to the program. Admission is competitive and applicants are evaluated on ALL parts of the application, including the Supporting Documents. Applicants must demonstrate academic ability, focus, interest, commitment and other evidence that they can succeed in our graduate program and contribute to the profession. The College of Information gives preference for admission to applicants who meet the minimum University requirements for both the GPA and the GRE.
International Students only: Applicants whose native language is not English must submit a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the written exam, or 213 on the computer exam, or 80 on the internet exam. This requirement may be waived with documentation of successful completion of at least one academic year of study in a country whose official language is English.
