As an Internet pioneer, Debbie Abilock has been developing educational applications of online technology since 1992. With over 25 years of practical experience in education. She has been an Assistant Head of School, curriculum coordinator, site-level teaching librarian, and led her school’s development of a unified technology, library and curriculum department in support of teaching and learning. Debbie is founding Editor (1997-) of Knowledge Quest, the print journal of the American Association of School Librarians. She also co-founded (1999-) NoodleTools, an Internet start-up incorporated in 2002, which provides a suite of Web-based interactive tools to aide students and professionals with online research.

Currently, Katherine is employed by ETS and is leading development of the National Board Early and Middle Childhood Literacy: Reading Language Arts assessment

Previously, she was the Director of the American Library Association Office for Diversity. Tracie Hall also worked as manager and community librarian of the Albany Branch of the Hartford Public Library, and as Young Adult Librarian and Young Adult Specialist at the New Haven Free and Seattle Public libraries respectively. She has served as visiting faculty member at the Schools of Library and Information Science at Dominican University and Catholic University of America and at Southern Connecticut State and Wesleyan Universities.

She also serves on the American Association for School Librarians committee on National Board Certification for Professional Teaching Standards, is the co-chair of the American Association of School Librarians Independent School Section Web Committee, and is a member of the Young Adult Library Services Association Baker & Taylor Award Committee. In her spare time, she writes a blog titled "The Sassy Librarian" and takes her golden retriever, Bugsy, to work every day.

Nancy Teger

Nancy L. Teger is the Library Media Services Program Specialist for the Florida Department of Education. Previously, she served as the Library Media Supervisor for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and, during 1992-1993, was the coordinator of the $3.5 million Hurricane Andrew library media replacement project. For twenty-five years, Nancy gained valuable experiences working in elementary and high school libraries, including opening three new high schools. She has earned a Master of Science in Library Science and a Doctor of Science in Information Sciences and has also been very active in professional organizations, as well as teaching graduate courses in computer and library sciences. In addition, She works closely with the District Media Supervisors in each of the 66 school districts in Florida. Nancy Teger is also the liaison to the Local Advisory Board, consisting of the District Media Supervisors for Santa Rosa, Pinellas, Polk, Broward, Leon, and Gadsden Counties and the Director of the NBPTS Teacher Resources Center at FAMU, for Project LEAD.
Julie A. Walker

Julie A. Walker is Executive Director of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). Prior to serving in this capacity, Walker was the Director of Library & Media Services for the Round Rock (TX) ISD. For the past seven years, she has been responsible for directing a national implementation plan for Information Power: Building Partnerships for Learning, the association's guidelines for school library media programs. Walker currently serves on the National Education Advisory Board of Cable in the Classroom and the Advisory Committee for the Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries. Walker is also a past-Chair of the Alliance for Curriculum Reform, a group of organizations committed to improving curriculum, instruction and assessment in P-12 schools. |
