Project LEAD is an established, ongoing program at the FSU College of Information open to anyone throughout the world due to its online nature. However, funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services in 2006 provided a one-time opportunity for granting fellowships to 30 teacher-leaders from six counties throughout Florida. These fellows, part of a learning community cohort, are taking the Project LEAD master’s degree option and will graduate in Summer 2009. As part of their program they are participating in two summer leadership workshops in Tallahassee, attending a state and a national library media conference, and becoming involved in those organizations.

Andrea does not have a favorite author or illustrator, but she has a favorite book called Hooray for Diffendoofer Day! by Dr. Seuss with some help from Jack Prelutsky and Lane Smith. This is her favorite book because the teachers in the story teach their students how to think to pass a test; not teaching the test to pass.
